Bumblebriar

A personal journey through the thickets and briars of life

Silent Night

A big snowy day here in Oregon.  While I have lived most of my life here, I can’t recall so much snow.  Although there was this one time we had tons of snow that just kept coming, enough that we could build a snowfort, a really cool snow fort.  Then the paperboy kicked it down – he was mean.  But I was about 8 years old and at that age everything is distorted.

Put a pot of Pozole on, the kids actually complained it had too much meat, they like the Hominy soaked in the chili gravy, so savory, mmmm picante!

Glad to have the opportunity to actually work from home and telecommute.  There was a time, when these kind of days some fool at work (every office had them) would complain that you needed to do what you could to get into the office because the world would come to an end.  Those dinosaurs would also complain if you had problems with sitters, had a sick kid or even a school appointment.  While I’m not a smoker – I love the phrase… “you’ve come a long way baby” (maybe virginia slims stole the song as their byline?).  Regardless, it’s a great time to have bad weather and just hunker down without worrying about losing your job.
