Found this, and a few other cards in a pile. I picked these up at a garage sale on a trip thru Utah some time ago which my sister-in-laws daughter was having. My sister-in-law is from South Africa and she said these were very common when she was a young girl, she’s not that much older than I and I don’t recall ever seeing them. Have you?
Enjoy!

As my mother ages, so apparently is her memory. Family members are scanning and documenting photo’s for posterity. We stumbled upon these artifacts referencing the proper name and usage of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1965/66.
It’s no surprise to me that my dad would feel it necessary to write church headquarters, in fact I suspect he was quite excited at his discovery.
For me these hold a lot of interesting information. I was about 4 years old at the time, my dad had his law practice in downtown Portland. In this time capsule of a letter, we learn that Harold B. Lee was sent to divide the two stakes at the time, he would later be called as President of the church. in 1965 these were very large stakes geographically, I can only now imagine how many stakes make up those same geographic areas today. After we moved west to Washington county, we were in the Portland then Portland West Stake, and since I was a teen, that area alone is now probably close to 5 or 6 stakes alone. My father passed about 10 yrs after this letter, I was just 14 years old. My how time has flown since then.
I’m sure he was tickled when he received a response from church headquarters validating his concern and indicating that corrective action had been taken. Everyone wants to be listened to.
